Hi There.
Apologies if this question has been answered previously but I am in a mega expensive internet cafe and do not have time to search. I am going to Morocco around the end of May - catching the ferry from Spain into Tangia and then the train to Marrakech. I have never been to morroco and was hoping to get some advice on:
1. I have not prebooked any ferry / train tickets as i am not sure of the exact dates. Will I be OK to turn up the stations and purchase tickets there?
2. Does anyone know of any good & cheap accomodation in Marraketch.
Any advice / recommendations of places to eat, stay, visit would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks is Advance

hi,
try this cheap hotel. I haven't been there yet but I read a lot of good recommendations about it.
www.hotelfarouk.com. 10 euro's a night!
The Hotel Central Place is beautiful, spotless, and has hot showers all day, & is right next to the grand Square. Lovely roof garden and social areas. 100dh a night, for a single!! (8.5 euro's); The CTM advertised in Lonely Planet is doing singles for just 45dh, due to the fact its currently half a building site, but u could do a lot wotse, its still ok for the price and overlookd the grand square directly. Good luck!

- You cannot prebook train tickets in Morocco. You have to just turn up and buy tickets (if second class looks really full, pay a little extra for first)
2. www.moroccosavvy.com (hotel search)

We are at the Hotel Medina right now and are quite happy - of the rooms available at nearby hotels (some places were all booked up) in this price range we liked the room we have at the Medina best. 100 dh for a bigger triple room (there are only two of us), and hot showers included (a lot of places charge). Nothing fancy, but clean and the receptionist guy speaks good english and is very helpful. Our first night was at the Sindi Sud, which was a big mistake; nice enough rooms, but all the staff are very rude and grumpy - we got out of there first thing the next morning.
