Hi,
I would like to do a trip in Madagascar in July-August but someone, living 5 months a year in Madagascar, said me that I should avoid the country for the moment because of political troubles. I have some doubts about this information. Is the situation different from last year?
Hi,
I will travel to Madagascar at the end of February and need some up to date information:
-
Where and which are reliable companies to book a combined tour of Tsiribihina river and Parc National des Tsingy de Bemuraha? What is the river trip like? Can you expect that your baggage (esp. electronics) stays dry?
-
Is there any long distance public transport in Madagascar operating with large buses or do you have to rely on taxis-brousses?
-
Where can you hire a vehicle…
Hi again,
I've been planning my trip to Madagascar for several weeks now and keep changing my mind as to what itinerary I want to do! I think the problem I have is that there are so many places and things I want to see but we only have 21 days including international flights.
I am 28 so I am sure that if I like Madagascar then I will go back at some point to see the parts I didn't on my first visit. However, I am travelling with my mum who is 50 and this is a once in a life time trip for her…
Hi All!
I have always wanted to go to Madagascar to see the lemurs & wildlife :) I think I will head there this April/May. I am thinking of spending ~3-6 weeks there (I still have to sort that part out). I have been through Tanzania, India & Argentina backpacking by myself, but I can't quite seem to determine if going to Madagascar by myself is very straightforward, or most importantly, safe.
I love photography, so I will be hauling a little bit of camera equipment with me, and I don't know…
posted a few photos from trip if anybody fancys a look .....

Hi guys,
I posted a week ago an itinerary for a 2 1/2 week trip to Madagascar which I realise was now too ambitious. I am 28 and want to see as much as I can, however this trip is also for my mums 50th and want it to have enough luxury to afford it to be a trip of a lifetime. So I will sacrafice amount of places seen for good quality accomodation at a select few places.
My itinerary now will be:
Arrive Tana, over night Orchid hotel tana airport
Hire 4x4 with private driver (was thinking though…
Hi, I will be in Madagascar in January and would like to ask someone to share their experience from this time of the year. I know that this is the beginning of the wet season on the island and visiting parks all depends on the rainfall. I will be in Nosy Be and me and my friends are planning to go all the way up to Diego Suarez. We would love to visit one of the parks as well but as far as I have read most roads might not be impassible during the wet season and lemurs don't tent to move a lot…
Hey guys,
I'm a nurse from NZ and am planning on heading over to Africa later this year to do some volunteering and some travel. Tossing up between Tanzania, Botswana and Madagascar, but at the moment am leaning towards Madagascar. I've been reading up on some volunteer organisations and like the look of one in Madagascar called Maventy Health International. Has anyone heard anything about them or volunteered with them??!! They are a pretty small organisation but seem to be doing a really…
My husband and I went to Madagascar in August/September. After the busiest autumn of our lives, we've finally had a chance to look at our photos and take some time to remember our amazing trip...this has inspired me to post a couple of recommendations for others thinking about traveling to and around this incredible island.
Of all of the highlights of our trip--and there were MANY--the most memorable is our 5-day canoe trip from Beroroha to Ambiky down the Mangoky River (note: this trip is…
