Hi, Travelguys,

Anybody have been or going to NP Tsingy recently? How is the road condition over there right now.
we are now in Tana, the weather here feel like dry season already.

And about the Great Tsingy tour, I read some topics said it will be impossible until mid May, so does it mean still too early for NP Tsingy? because the Great Tsingy tour is the essential part.

I was told that there is frequent check by police during night for identification. Is it true and isn't it dangerous to carry a passport on you? What could one do to avoid carrying one or is it essential to carry it? Please advice.

I am travelling to Madagascar with my girlfriend for 3 weeks in June and I was after some help with the logistics and planning... currently my plan is far too ambitious in the time available...

the main requirements we have are:-
- wildlife (obviously)
- photographic landscapes
- beach for a few days
- getting slightly off the beaten track to local villages etc (one of the best things about travelling in Africa for me is the people)

The route I have in mind is along the lines of...
Tana-Andasibe…

We are off to Madagascar for 3 weeks this year (last week of June & first 2 weeks of July).
The main reason for the trip is to see wildlife and I am particularly interested in rainforest ecosystems. Hence we're spending most of our time in the East.
At the moment we plan to visit 3 NPs'
1) Parc National d'Andasibe-Mantadia
2) Parc National de Masola & Nosy Mangabe
3) Parc National de Montagne d'Ambre
Our originally plan took us to Ile Sainte Marie, but we have since decidede to ditch this idea and go…

I am planning to spend 3 weeks in Madagascar in August. I strongly believe the highlights in the frontpage of the LP are the must-visit places, such as Parc National D Ankarafantika; Reserve Speciale De L Ankarana, Ifaty, PN De L Islao etc. But after reading the LP, I found it is very difficult to get around these NP.

Actually, my top target of this journey is to look for wildlife, such as lemurs, sifakas etc and see the strangest vegetation. I don't like joining tour .It is okay for me to go…

Hi,
I'm traveling this May with 3 friends to Madagascar for 2 weeks. (24, female)
I'd like to see Tana, Ranomafana, Isalo, Lemurs and other wildlife, make some hikes (maybe camp) and spend 3-4 days on the beach. If we would have enough time, I'd like to go snorkeling/diving.

I decided to drive the N7 from Tana to Toliara. Is it hard to find a driver in Tana? And what does it cost?
What's the better way to get back to Tana, fly or drive?

And one of the most important questions: Where's the best…

Hi, guys,

I am planning my trip to Madagascar traveling alone and will have total 12 full days, my plan is travel in one direction only , which direction should I take if I want to focus on wild life and local village?Possible to do East and South and return in 12 days?

I am planning to visit again with my family next year, so I will need to save the easier portion for traveling with family.

Any suggestions?

thanks

I am planning a trip to Madagascar for this fall, and considering different itineraries. I'm hoping those more familiar with Mada, its roads, Air Madagascar, etc. can give me an idea if this is a doable route. I have about 10 - 12 days.

Tana -- drive to Ankarafantsika National Park with car hire
Stay near park or in Mahajunga for 2 or 3 nights
Fly to Diego Suarez
Stay in Diego area for 4 or 5 nights, visiting Ambre Mountain, Tsingy, Bays
Fly back to Tana

Is it possible to drive from Mahajunga to…

Hello all!

I'm planning on visiting Madagascar for two weeks from late May to early June. Anyone interested in teaming up? I will be travelling alone, and reading all the posts here, it seems like with car rental, guides, etc, it could get very expensive for one person. I am fairly flexible as I've only just started planning...basically I just have three things in mind - lemurs, baobabs, beach...so, I am open to any itinerary!

Hi Everyone,

We are planning a week in Madagascar in June, well 6.5 days! There is so much to choose from and so little time, but better than not going at all I guess.

Could anyone suggest an itinary that could work for us for this time of year? We want to see the lemurs, would like to see baobabs if possible and don't need any beach days. Really, we just want to squeeze in the best bits so any help or suggestions would be most welcome. Everytime I look at the guide book I just want to go…
