Just wondering - does anyone know if the money changing office at the arrivals hall will change American express traveller's cheques?

Usually they are not so enthusiastic about it. Bring some cash , preferrably Euros.

Hi, I' ve got your important message. For your chavellers'cheques american express is possible but the better is tichet like us dollar , it's more easy and not complecate to use and no more time waiting for change in the bank.I 'll saggeste you and for the tax here in Mada is not expensive about 80dollar.
