The people have taken to the streets in Tana. All around the area of Independence Ave up to Analakely and surrounding areas which are tourist areas.

On Saturday there have been some riots, violence, closing of stores, riot police and military are out in force to control a crowd of several thousand people.

The following is part of the article in English calling the people to the streets.
The voice of the street

The current political context is again favorable to the risk of dialogue of the deaf. We do not know who wants to do what and for what purpose. The disappointment of the Ravalomanana camp, following the detention of the former president, is enormous. Nobody seems willing to give way.

The Malagasy political chessboard is again in turmoil. The return of former president Marc Ravalomanana has precipitated the change gives although for several weeks, we felt a blow "wind of change". No one knows what tomorrow will be, but we can already argue that the situation can change very quickly.

The disappointment of the supporters of the former president could push them to a new emphasis to the voice of the street. They could easily choose this approach if the blockage persists. Since 1972, it was impossible to ignore the cry of the people in the street. Because the claims could quickly turn into violence. The sacking of radio and television had become a classic scene. Similarly, political opponents were also often targeted by fighter operations in the violent man. Home could be burned. The nightmares were many.

The good news now is that there is calm. However it is not finished yet. The powers are still sparring and the people wait to react depending on which side they favor. Tana is a political hotbed, but outside in the other larger towns and villages life is going on as normal and in many cases, especially in the very small villages without any knowledge that there is a problem and when any news reaches them it could be weeks later.

The news is all about- National reconciliation is seen as the ideal way to get out of the crisis.

And with this being the objective then there will be nothing else to report- The calm will continue.
