A group of us will be spending New Years in Diego. Can anyone suggest some good places (preferably budget) to stay and what to do? Any good spots to see the new year in? We flying back to Tana on the 1st.

What are you looking for ? It is very unclear. Do you mean which places to spend your time in the evening before the new year ?

I recently stayed at Le jardin exotique in Diego. It's a lovely spot - reasonably priced from 65000 - 95000 Ar, depending on whether you want AC or not. There's a roof terrace for evening beers (you have a fridge in your room), it's on a quiet street but close to town, and I'd recommend it - it's in the guidebooks.
