Hi,

I am visiting Madagascar from the 28th of October to the 15th of November.

Given that I will spend the first two nights in Tana, and that I am mostly interested in beaches, lemurs spotting, culture, food and the wild (I would like to avoid the most touristy spot like Nosy Be?) .. and given that I assume the West and South of the country have a better climate,

my question is ..

would it be feasible to leave Tana, visit the West Coast, (roughly from Morondava, I am thinking, or Morombe, realistically) then stretch down to Fort Dauphin, up to Manakara, back to Tana via Fianarantsoa ...

Ehm ,,, I should mention that I'd like to this via land (preferably) ... what transport shall I use? Oh .. and that I am travelling by myself.

Thanks!

Nadia

Hello,
If you are interested about the wildlife , culture, beaches , the southern tour is best itinerary for you start from Tana drive to Andasibe where you can find the largest lemur named " Indri Indri " and the others species , reptiles, birds... then lead to the south follow the national road 7, go to Fianarantsoa descent by train to Manakara , have an excursion on Pangalane channel before you drive back to Ranomafana , visit the park then continue to Isalo , don't skip off Anja reserve, from Isalo straight to Ifaty beach for relaxing.
I think the south west it will be hard for you if you travel alone because you need to hire 4X4 for this tour but you know the cost of 4X4 it very expensive and you need at least 10 days from Morondava to Fort Dauphin follow the coast as you mentionned in your message.
Good luck!!!

I don't think it's realistic to try to do this in 15 days or so. We are running a similar tour without the South East ( Fort Dauphin + Manakara ) and it's already 21 days, land only.

You will have to make a few compromises. Do you have a "must-do & must-see" list ? From there, we should be able to advise and help.

Feel free to MP as well for any particular request.

Hi Nadia,
i will be in Madagascar also only for 15 days, from 24 of october till 8 of november. I am just planning my trip and it is not so easy. Did you decide yet which parts you will visit?
