If you want to travel in Madagascar with a local guide/driver contact Mamy Rakotofilipo[rakotofilipomamy@yahoo.fr] . We had him last year on our trip and he was very good.
He works now for his own and has a 4WD.

We also travelled with him earlier this year and would thoroughly recommend him. He now has a new estate car which he keeps spotlessly clean! He is extremely friendly and enthusiastic - his hotel, restaurant and guide recommendations were spot on. We'd definitely use him if we are lucky enough to return to Madagascar
