The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, with its customary attention to accuracy and detail has published on its website the following as a travel advisory for Mauritius (!!):

19/11/10 - 1100 hrs - Due to an ongoing security operation at a military barracks near the International Airport at Ivato, we recommend that travel to the airport and its immediate surrounds be limited at the present time.

This seems to suggest that other military units are moving against the officers responsible for the coup attempt.

Hopefully by the time the FCO has remembered where Ivato is, the situation will have clarified itself.

Paris CDG once again reports that there is currently no disruption to today's flights to Tana.

Seems they at least read their e-mails. The FCO have now moved Ivato back to Madagascar, but they've made the warning slightly stronger in the process:

"Due to an ongoing security operation at a military barracks near Antananarivo International Airport at Ivato, we recommend that travel to the airport and its immediate surrounds be limited at the present time. We understand some flights out of the airport are currently being cancelled – you should check with your airline."

Paris CDG still reports that today's long-haul flights by Air France and Air Mad are not affected.

"Some flights" but not all seems to be correct - Air France's long haul left on time at 01.30 today, 20 November, but the Air Mad flight due to leave at 02.10 was cancelled, which means that today's return flight due to leave at 15.15 also won't fly.

Corsair, on the other hand is still intending to fly today from Orly at the moment.

...on its website the following as a travel advisory for Mauritius (!!)

I guess it should read Madagascar instead of Mauritius, is it OP ?

No, LoneRunner, Mauritius, in this context, is correct.

The wretched British Foreign Office put out a negative travel advisory for visitors to Mauritius warning of military activity in the area of Ivato airport.

Only after I and presumably a good many others sent them a sarcastic e-mail did they change this and relocate Ivato (and the advisory) back to Madagascar.
