We would visit Madagascar in August.
I have already been there (Andasibe-Mantadia, RN7 from Tana to Tulear with a detour with the Fianar-Manakara train, Ile St. Marie), while my mate is a first-timer.
Among the things I have already visited, I am planning a comeback only to Ile St. Marie (for seeing the whales with my mate) and to Andasibe-Mantadia (nice and easy from Tana). Nothing else. I really liked Isalo NP and many other things, but I don't want my second trip being a copy of the first one.
We are much interested in nature and wildlife. We also like the seaside, but we are not "beach-people". Some days are enough.

Part 1.
1) Arriving in Tana.
2) Flight Tana-Diego Suarez.
3-4) Visiting Montagne d'Ambre. Night 3 in Joffreville, night 4 in Joffreville (if we make the whole north tour with a private driver) or back in Diego (if we go to Ankarana with a tour),
5-6-7) To Ankarana, possibly going to red tsingy on the way. I now the east part has more comfortable accomodation, but the west part is much better as for the scenery. What would you advice? Night 7 back to Diego.
8-9) Diego and surroundings (3 bays, Emeraud sea, Windsor Castle, etc.).
10) Diego-Tana.

What's your opionion? Advice?
Should I need "cutting" 1 or 2 days ... which ones?

Part 2.
11) Tana-Andasibe via Mandraka.
12-13) Visit Andasibe and Mantadia. Would you visit also Mitsinjo? Do we need one more day?
14) Andasibe-Ankanin'ny Nofy.
15) Places around Ankanin'ny Nofy. Is one full day enough?
16) To Toamasina. I must have read that it is only one hour and a half with boat, but looking at the map it looks strange. In case it it true, we could arrive early in Toamasina and visit Parc Ivoloina in the afternoon.
17) Flight Toamasina-Ile St. Marie.
18-...) more or less 6 days on St. Marie.
Then flight St. Marie-Tana and flight back home.

Any opinion/advice is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

When I went to Montagne D'Ambre I did it as a day trip from Diego. Saw the world's smallest chameleon there and a few waterfalls and lemurs. Overall the area was not too interesting being just a forest. You might like to reconsider how long you spend in this area.

Don't miss the trip to the Emerald sea. This was incredible with the color of the water and going there and back in a local sailing boat. Also good is the 3 bays tour.

You also shouldn't miss the red tsingy and you could do this on the way to Ankarana. I myself did the red tsingy as a special day trip in and out of Diego.

I only saw the eastern part of Ankarana and that was quite good with the grey tsingy and bat cave, and underground river (though no water when I was there in April). One full day is good enough to see all the sights in this eastern part. Though I spent a day and a half there and stayed in the cheap huts that are available there. No electricity, just a lamp. Good meals available.

You could continue on to Nosy Be from Ankarana which is good for a few days, before flying back to Tana from Nosy Be.
