Dear All,

I'll be flying to Nairobi in August this year. I'll be arriving with a Qatar Airways at JK Airport at 1310 hours and planning to take Precision Air to Kilimanjaro Airport on the same day, departing at 1630 hours. I'll be going back to Nairobi via Precision Air after 8 days, after which I'll be in Nairobi for a couple of days.

Here are my questions:
1. Is there enough time for me to catch the said Precision Air to Kilimanjaro Airport?
2. How complicated is JK Airport?
3. I would think…

Hi,

If we stay inside the national park in Masai Mara (keekorok lodge or Ol Moran camp) for 4 days, do we need to pay the park entry fee for all 4 days or we pay just one time 80 USD?

Do we have to pay this fees at the entrance gate or the lodge where we stay?

Our plan is to stay 4 days and do 3 full day safaris while staying inside the park in a vehicle we hire.

What would be best / economical way to do this?

Is there a list of good car rental companies in Nairobi where we can hire a…

I want to visit Kakamega Forest but I’d like to have some advice on which side to choose: the northern (National Reserve) or the southern (Forest Reserve). I tried to contact both but I only reached KFS of the southern side. There is the Isecheno guesthouse located, while my original plan was to sleep in Udo’s Banda’s or even, if possible, on top of Buyango viewpoint in the north.
Is the forest comparable? What would you recommend?

Hi,

We are intending to travel between Moshi and Voi by travelling on buses between Moshi and Holilli, and Taveta to Voi, and have a couple of questions about the journey:

Firstly, can anyone confirm if this journey is possible in a single day?

Secondly, we have noticed that the road between Taveta to Voi that the bus will most likely take passes through the Tsava West National Park, and were wondering whether we would be required to pay the national park fee as bus passengers?

Thanks for…

Hi there. I am US citizen. If I fly into Nairobi, I would purchase on the spot an East African tourist Visa. My plans are to travel in Kenya, fly to Entebbe and travel in Uganda, go to Rwanda by bus, then fly from Rwanda to Kilimanjaro Airport in Tanzania. After spending some time in Tanzania I would return to Nairobi by bus. So, my questions are: Will my East African tourist VISA cover me for the entries and exits I have planned? And, can I get a Tanzania visa on arrival at Kilimanjaro…

Hi everyone,

I will land at Nairobi Airport/NBO/JKIA around 7.30am and would like to travel straight to Moshi in Tanzania.

I did some research as there are loads of threads to this topic and it seems that shuttles only depart at around 8am (too early) and 2pm (too late). The latter seem only to go as far as Arusha but not Moshi.

So what options are there:
1. Are there shuttle companies that leaves earlier and go as far as Moshi? Like around 10am?
2. What if being in Arusha around 6-7pm (taking…

Hi,

My wife and I are planning a week's safari at the Maasai Mara in June/July 2017. Our son will be a little over two years old by then. Can anyone advise me on the practicabilities of taking him with us? Are there any discomforts/risks involved, security-wise, weather-wise? Any tips would be welcome. We would find it hard to leave him behind under someone else' care. Thanks a ton in advance.

Pramod
