Can anyone provide a link or documentation clarifying whether the $80 fee purchases access for a single calendar day or for a 24-hour period beginning at time of entry and ending 24 hours later?
Thank you,

Hey there,
my girlfriend and I are going to Kenya on a budget trip for 5 weeks this November and December. We also plan to go to Mount Elgon. We cannot find any recent reviews or information about hiking to the top, all is about climbing. We are in fair, fit condition. We would like to know:
1. What difficulty it is to hik to the top on the Kenyan side?
2. How long does it take? 1 day up and 1 day down? Or longer?
3. Do you need a guide to hike to the top? Or can you do it by youself?

Should we stay in Westlands or Karen for three nights after we land before heading on safari? Our safari company will do airport transfer to Wetlands hotel but not Katen. In addition we would have to leave for safari from their office on Westlands. We want to see many sights though that are in or near Karen: Katen Blixen museum, bead center, Nairobi National Park and some others. Also want to see the national mus which is in Westlands. Would like to have some good restaurants near where we stay…
I just came back from my Mount Kenya hike. It was amazing. I had a great guide, great weather and it was a phenomenal price. I went with a local company to climb. It was only $280 for me since I am a Kenyan Resident and Student, but for the foreigners who did not have residency status and student pass they paid only $550. This included guide, porters, lodging all nights, food, cooks, entrance to the park and many other things. The company had gear to rent if you needed it.
I took Sirimon and…

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy east Africa visa at the land border crossing between Tanzania and Kenya? I would be very grateful for the information.
Hello, this is quite a spontaneous decision. But i want to go to nakuru tmrw from nairobi. And since the flamingo colony is now in lake bogoria, i spontaneously want to go from nakuru to lake bogoria also. Any infos on tours or cheapest alternative possible for me to get there? I contacted one person (got his number from kenya lonely planet guide) he offered 15000Kshs to get me there (since i am alone cos my kenyan friend is not coming due to budget, so this is too high for me to pay alone, he…
Dear Kenya lovers!
I m going to spend 4 months in Nairobi and need smart phone internet access. I require quite a bit of data (5GB+). Anyone can suggest affordable providers?
Thanks much!
Hi! Me and my wife are going to Africa for the first Tim arriving in Addis and planing to cross overland to Kenya until Nairobi. We have been getting many different opinions and we hope that more experienced travelers can give us a hand so we don't get frustrated. How feasible it is to book a safari and actually see the wildebeest migration? How many days safari would be recommended for first timers? What price range on the budget side of the spectrum we should expect to pay per day? Thank you…
Hello,
I would like to visit Masai Mara park with my family at the end of September. My husband and I did this about 15 years ago and booked a simple camping safari in Nairobi which was much cheaper than booking ahead. However, as this time we will be traveling with our two kids I'm a little hesitant. Also, we won't have much time. Can anyone give me some advice as to how fast/easy it is to book once you are there? Is the savings signifiant?
Thanks so much!
