Hi,

My sister and I are travelling to Nairobi in March for two months. We have been offered accommodation in Kasarani. Can anyone tell us where this is in relation to the city centre.

Last time we stayed in Kilimani, close to Ngong Road.

Is Kasarani a safe area for two females?

Any feedback would be appreciated

thankyou

Hello....
I am planning an excursion to climb Kilimanjaro and I need some help/advice to help in my plans. I recently trekked around Annapurna....in Nepal...and base camp. Finding a reliable guide and porter when I got there was no problem. Can I expect the same for this, or would it be better to pre-arrange with a trekking company. What can I expect to pay? Also, what is the best time to climb?
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks................Brian

We truly hope to be able to go for a holiday from Sudan to east africa, but wonder about the prices.

Wich country is the cheapest, if you want to live on a small budget: Kenya or Tanzania?
And which has the nicest beaches: Mombasa or DaresSalaam (not talking about Zanzibar)?

How much is a visa to Kenya and one for Tanzania?

Does anyone know were we can get the cheapest tickets to Kenya or Tanzania, from Sudan?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

Me and my partner are planning a budget (camping) safari in N Kenya to last 3-4 days. We want to take in Samburu, Buffalo Springs, Shaba or Losai National Parks, or parks in that same area, and end up at Marsabit. Since we're heading for Ethiopia we really don't want a safari which takes us further south again, since we'll have to get a bus back up the country. Is this feasible? And is it possible to turn up at parks and try and sort out a safari then, or would it be best to book in…

Me and my wife have 2 days to spend in Nairobi and are desperate to get out of the city. I was hoping for some suggestions on hotel, maybe an hour or so out of Nairobi, where we could relax. Something not too expensive.
Thanks alot.

I will be in Kenya starting Jan 11-Feb 6 2008. I do not really have a set itenerary but know I would like to spend 1 week in the coast and maybe cross the boarder to TZ. I want to do at least one safari. I am a single female traveller and looking for similar travellers who want to hook up for any part of the trip. I will be in nairobi for the first week seeing the sites.

I am curious also about renting a car. How much should I expect to pay for a couple of weeks rental and can I drive myself or…

I will be in Kenya between 4 and 26 January, for a Mt. Kenya Trekking, Camping Safari (Samburo, Rift Valley, Serengeti) and mybe just travel around and visit some less touristic places. As I'm traveling alone and I'm looking for other people with similar interests. Are you looking for an extra person for your tour? Do you have a free place in your safari? (female, 32, with travel, outdoor and mountaineering experience)

What would be a good price for a no-frills, three-day camping safari with a competent guide to these two parks in mid to late January? Would we be likely to get a significantly better price if we were to book this in Nairobi rather than online?

If we were to search for such a safari in Nairobi, how likely is it that we could complete our safari "shopping" in one day, and begin the safari the following day?

Finally, am I correct in surmising that Masai Mara & Ambroseli are more promising…

Hi!

My boyfriend and I are planning a safari in Kenya. We are looking to do a 3-5 day safari in the end of March, but hope to not go broke over it! We'll be coming from Nairobi, and willing to go anywhere that we'd be able to see the big 5 animals.

We would REALLY appreciate any suggestions you have! And as soon as possible!

Thank you.

I wanted to hear from forum members on a particular issue that is vexing me:

I am from Canada, from where I obtained my Kenyan and Tanzanian visas. I am currently in India and will be proceeding to Kenya on the 27th. I will return to India on the 6th (after a visit to Zanzibar), and a couple of days there after, leave for Canada. Now, I am told that I have to obtain my yellow fever vaccine before I enter Kenya; that too, a minimum of ten days before travel, or that I will be refused entry at…
