I am a brazilian travelling through Europe and decided to visit Kenya/Tanzania. Does anybody knows if brazilian passport holders can get the visa upon arrival at the Nairobi airport or do they have to get it in a Kenyan consulate in Europe before boarding the plane? Also, my return flight leaves from Nairobi, and so, do I need to get another Kenyan visa in Tanzania before returning to Kenya to board the plane? Thanks!
I've done safaris in lodges/tented camps. This time I'm thinking about the camping option. What experiences have you had going that route? Are there showers in many of them? What is the food situation like?
Thanks!
Hi all, and thanks to everyone who makes this forum so helpful.
I'll be doing a tour with a company that starts in Nairobi, then makes its way through other parts of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. I then fly back to Nairobi and have a 6 hour break in Nairobi before flying back to the states.
Probably I won't want to hang around at the Nairobi airport for 6 hours, so my question is, when I first arrive in Nairobi, should I get a multiple entry visa (so that I can leave the airport on that last day…
Earlier this year had the opportunity to visit the Lower Omo Valley in Ethiopia. Although I have travelled a fair bit in Africa I really found my time in the Lower Omo to be one of the most unique and best experiences I have had in Africa.
I will be back in the Lower Omo Valley towards the end of July and need to end up in Nairobi about 7-8 days later. Has anyone any advice about travelling across the Kenyan border from the Lower Omo Valley in Ethiopia.
Also can anyone relate their experiences…
I live in the USA but am trying to help someone purchase a bicycle in Kenya.
Help , please.
I have posted this question already in an old thread about the Nairobi National Museum but I am afraid that only very few people will read it thanks to the fact that the threads are sorted by the date the thread was created if the reader doesn't choose otherwise (and who does?), so I want to ask again: I'm considering to visit the National Museum in Nairobi together with some Kenyan Secondary School students (may be a group of 10 to 15 students and a few people more accompanying them). However…

I will be in Maralal for the Camel Derby (dates still to be confirmed but the organisers have told me it is will almost certainly be on the first or second weekends in August) Is anyone else interested in possibly joining forces, hiring a jeep from there and heading up to Lake Turkana and back down to Marsabit, in order to keep costs down as it seems there is not a great deal in the way of transport. If you are interested please drop me a line here or email me at downjim@hotmail.com
I just did a Swahili course in Nairobi, and I am very satisfied with it. So I'd thought I'd share it.
If anyone want to learn some Swahili I can recommend using Nancy. She is based in town and gives private lessons as well as practical lessons. I had great fun! And I learned a lot.
If you want to learn some Kiswahili you can email Nancy: nancywaweru@yahoo.com

My film "The Intrepid Berkeley Explorer On Safari" whisks you away to Tanzania and Kenya, where you meet all the famous African animals from Antelope to Zebra, including leopards, elephants, lions, cheetah, rhino, and hippos. The video can be seen on the web if you have a high speed internet connection. Be prepared: Safaris can be long and rough.
This is a free, non-commercial, streaming video on the Windows Media Player. No ads and no strings attached. I still sell absolutely nothing. My…
