Hi everyone! Im new in here and would like to have some opinions.
1-After searching on the net i found a KATO safari operator who proposed me a 7 days budget/camping safari for 880 $, visiting Mara/Amboseli and Nakuru. Everything´s included, meals, water, parks fee.... Is it a good deal for a camping safari?!
2- Also is it possible to visit Hells Gate in 1 day and come back to Nairobi on time to catch my flight at 23 pm? If so, which way shall i do it on a budget also?

Thanks everyone!

I am hoping to make a trip to Diani beach and then the plan is to go onto Lamu island from here. I was wondering if there was a bus or a train or a ferry that links the two places.
What would you suggest is the best way to get to Lamu.
I will be backpacking on a budget so I'm really eager to hear your suggestions.

Thanks a lot

I am off to lake Naivasha this Saturday to work. I was hoping to escape the rain and awful summers in the UK but the forecast says it will rain every day. Is it non-stop rain in that area or more like tropical downpours and sunny spells? Anybody is around there now? Not sure what to pack.

Hi, I would like to hike Mt. Kenya either leaving on July 8th or July 19th. I have one hiking partner but would like to join or build a larger group because more people makes for a less expensive and more enjoyable experience.

A) Is anyone already planning a trek for those dates and could my friend and I join?
B) Would folks like to join my friend and I for hiking?

C) For those of you with more experience, am I "behind" in scheduling a Mt. Kenya hike? I fly to Nairobi on July 4th for my first…

We currently have a flight booked from Kisumu to Nairoibi after volunteering in Kisumu for a month but we are considering taking a safari instead if that is possible?

We are on a very tight budget though and as this is our first time in Kenya we would like to pack a safari in. If it isnt possible from Kisumu, whats the cheapest option in Nairobi? Is it possible to book them cheaper when you are there rather than online? Our other option is to do a weekend safari from Kisumu.

Desperate to do a…

Vegetarian family of 4 (kids are 15 and 11) going to Kenya and Zanzibar for 3 weeks.
Many days in Stone Town Zanzibar, Nairobi, Mombasa.
We imagine that because we are vegetarian we will be eating mostly Indian and Western food but would like to eat local dishes as well when possible.
Any GENERAL guidance on eating vegetarian, and any SPECIFIC recommendations for restaurants, would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,

We are two French guys 23 and 25 (best friend), technician and MSc student both working in conservation. We are planning to visit the Mara, more particularly the mara triangle, from the 23th to the 27th but for economic reason we would like to share the rent of vehicle for this trip . Our goal is to spend our time exploring the reserve, doing nice pictures. We must admit we're not o birding but of course if we see beeeater, roler, and raptor we will make a spot. One of us has 5 years…

(This is my first post here, so please be kind if I make a newbie mistake. Thanks!)

In August, I'll be traveling to Kenya for about three weeks. Most of my time is pretty structured with a group, but there will be a couple of days when I'll be in Nairobi on my own. I'm looking for suggestions of things to do.

I've been on safari in Kenya two years ago (Lake Nakuru and Maasi Mara, so seeing animals isn't necessarily a must. I'd like to try and get a sense of the city. Where are the parts…

I'll be traveling in Kenya and Tanzania in July. I really like to swim, especially when camping. This is important with no showers for days. I don't see much about swimming and am starting to assume that there must be crocodiles everywhere or something. Anyone have any swimming experience?
