I learned too late of this year's reverse migration to change our safari plans, and we'll be in the Serengeti next week- the 19th through 21st. Any recent news or predictions of where the herds will be by then??

many thanks!

I was in the MM in November...WOW...did I get lucky or what??? Thousands upon thousands of wildebeest and zebra....river crossings...predators...FABULOUS!!!!

Sorry Moshi...no predictions, but I was told it was only a partial reverse migration, and so I expect there are still plenty of animals in The Serengeti!!! Have a great trip!!!

Hello, be open for every possibility but for that date the migration will in Serengeti. To see it at this time may depend on your type of safari and the amount you paid for that safari. If you have paid a cheap safari, you will end up in central Serengeti and with lucky you may encounter the migration in Eastern Serengeti as you travel to Seronera (before and after Naabi Hills). Of course it depends on how nature responds!! For the recent update read this link: http://www.nomad-tanzania.com/blogs/serengeti-migration/

Many thanks for the updates- this is very encouraging! We are on a tent camping safari and will be camping in Seronera, but will enter from Ngorongoro through the Naabi hills gate. Great blog- thanks very much for posting!

You may have better luck checking the weather forecast for the area. I went to the Mara at the end of Sept when it starting raining in my town after a two week dry spell. Bam! Witnessed a massive river crossing. I live about 300km from the Mara.
