hi all

im going on a participatory camping safari in july/aug. it is with intrepid/guerba tours. it is a tour of parks in kenya and tanzania (masai heartlands) for 2 weeks.

have any of you done this trip? what was it like? was it tough ?what was setting up camp/making meals like?

any other info is appreciated.

It will mean that you will be putting up your own tents and helping out with the kitchen - shopping in the local markets (loads of fun), planning meals, peeling veg, washing up etc. If Guerba bring a cook along he/she will do the actual cooking, if not you'll be in a team taking it in turns to cook.

It takes a few minutes to put up/take down a tent. If there's no cook you'll probably cook a couple of times over the trip, this can be as easy (spag bol) or as difiicult as you feel comfortable with. They'll be at least 1 or 2 other people on cook duty with you and the crew will give you loads of pointers.
