thanks for that - yes I did the 16Km hike of longonot and it was very easy to follow on your own I loved it! definitely no guide required.
Hells gate was a little rushed and was more the bike ride that the gorge hike that I got to enjoy. Ended up biking with two other girls who were unwilling to pay for a gorge guide- shame as I would have if I was on my own.
just an observation was disappointed by the level of noise pollution from the nearby power station - i think - really spoiled it and some of the views actually, that with the big main road running through/very close to the park. pretty expensive entrance fee, I am not sure it was worth it for all of that to be honest - much preferred Longonot
