This is still a developing story early this morning. Tandoori Bar, a popular tourist hangout in Diani, has been blown up. A local contact has told me all the injured are Kenyans.

Local reliable contacts are telling me 8 Kenyans hurt, four from Nairobi. The grenade was thrown into the bar from a passing motorcycle (a popular tactic here) and hit the pool table area.

Sadly not a 'Major terror attack' but the latest in an increasingly long line of grenade attacks, primarily aimed at working class Kenyans, following on from the Mtwapa Prayer meeting, the Bella Vista bar in Mombasa town, Jericho Beer Garden in Kisauni at the coast and several others around the country targeting churches, bus halts, markets, etc.

The MO seems to be the same, throw a grenade and run / ride away, though it may be that this is different and has a more 'Major' effect as it seems to be its target is a bar that tourists as well as locals attend

As always my thoughts are with the victims and their familes, though at least in this one it seems that, as yet, there have been no fatalities

Thanks for this information. I wish a quick recovery for those who were injured, hope nobody died. We shall never be terrorized, that is what those who use such attacks to make us fear should know. I shall visit Mombasa for my holidays in February.

Who shall RIP??? 10 rather lightly injured, which is bad enough, but fortunately no one died.
Over 3100 died in traffic accidents in 2013, a world record, but it's 'everyday' news...
