Has anybody been to Lamu in June?
I am planning a visit towards the 20th of June and wondering whether Monsoon can ruin the vacation or there is a chance of good weather?
Thx

I was on Lamu in June a few years back and while there was rain most days it only rained all day out of the two weeks we were there. The nice thing was that there were few visitors making is easy to bargain for room prices and such. I never thought of Lamu as a sun and fun place anyway but rather a place to mingle and meet people. We did a dhow trip up to Kiwayu Island for a few days which is usually a few hours trip but with the high winds it took us two days to get back and were able to stay one night on Pate Island which was very nice. I would also suggest taking a donkey trip across Lamu to Matondoni where you can visit a family that will make you one the best Swahili meals you could find anywhere.
