Hi All

I m traveling to Kenya this summer isA and would like to know where are the NOT to be missed places, concerning Wild Life, Tribal life and landscape scenes.

Also for the migration where is the best places to go, I think I might have a chance to watch it, I will be there roughly in August.

As for the Tribal life where is some authentic/ safe places to go to see people on their nature, life with them and communicate as much as possible with them.

Also for the birds in the Lake Naivasha, what is the best way to go there? and how long does it take to get there from Nairobi.

I appreciate all your answers
Ahmed

Everyone will have different advice. Personally I'd say the Masai Mara for its savannah and wild game, Samburu for its gorgeous landscape, Lamu island for its amazing beauty and vibe.

In two weeks you can do enough, Amboseli for elephants and a glimpse of Mt. Kilimanjaro from a close range, Ol-Pejeta for Rhinos and Chimps, you can combine both Lake Bogoria [ for Flamingos ] and Lake Baringo or birding. If am not wrong, Lake Baringo is much richer in bird-life than Lake Naivasha. Maasai Mara is one key area, especially when you are visiting in between late July to late October.

Ahmed, you can easily get to Naivasha town by mutatu (minibus) from Nairobi in about an hour and a half. You can then take a car for 1,000 shillings or less to the lake or the Hell's Gate Park where you can rent a bicycle and cycle among zebra, giraffe, warthog, antelope and various monkeys - no predators. You can also take a walk through the spectacular scenery of the Hell's Gate gorge with a licensed guide.

The lake itself has excellent bird life as well as hippo and you are likely to see buffalo grazing on the banks. You can get all this and more if you go further on for another hour and a half to Lake Nakuru - Nakuru town is easily accessible by mutatu from Naivasha and once in town you can pick up a car in town to take you into the park for the half-day tour. You have a good chance of seeing lion, elephant and rhino at Lake Nakuru.

If you plan to stay a night or two at Lake Naivasha I recommend Carnelleys for the location, the food and the ease with which they can organise boat trips on the lake or bicycle hire to nearby attractions.

Have a great trip.

Thanks a lot guys on the recommendations, Catw, SS and App.

I have another question, is it better to arrange the tours with some local travel agencies or do it myself, I can understand the Wildlife activities should be done by some locals, but beyond that can I do it myself?

Also for the villages are the people friendly to be taken in pics, or I shouldnt do that?
Also for the villages should I do it my self or it is not safe to be alone/

Thanks a lot in advance for your answers
