Hi,

Does anybody knows how can I apply for an East African Visa online ? This option is not yet available on the eCitizen website but I don't want to issue the regular Kenyan visa since I will be travelling in Uganda & Rwanda as well.

Is it possible to issue this type of visa upon arrival to Kenya ?

Thanks
Yuval

This question has been asked before recently with no appropriate answers. There is conflicting information if the EAC visa is still available on arrival in Nairobi.

If at all possible, fly into Entebbe. It is certainly available there for $100.

I am part way through an online Kenya visa application. I'm flying to Dar Es Salaam on 11 December, back from there on 11 February, and hope to cross over into Kenya around 6 January. How rigid are the Kenyans about proposed entry date and border crossing point? Can an "itinerary" just be a vague plan scribbled on a piece of paper: (" hang out in Nairobi for a bit, go up Mount Kenya, visit Maasai Mara, return to Tanzania prior to 11th February etc. ...")? Their website says that the East Africa visa will be added to the online system "soon", but how soon? Perhaps not soon enough. Perhaps there isn't enough time to do justice to Uganda and Rwanda withing the above time frame anyway.

Many thanks for your helpful reply. Perhaps the best thing would be just to show up on the border without a visa and just ask for an East Africa visa. I have just seen the following which seems to confirm this possibility: http://kenyahighcom.org.uk/visas-2/

A few days ago I went to the Kenyan Embassy in Addis Ababa to try and get an East African Visa, after hearing that they weren't issuing visas on arrival at the borders and they told me. "Kenya is not issuing East African Visas, it is not part of East Africa!" Also I will not be able to get an East African Visa or Kenyan Visa on arrival in Moyale. My only option is to get a Kenyan Visa online using E-visa. I did this with relatively little hassle and didn't need to provide proof of flight tickets, just names of hotels. Hopefully, I'll have no problems on the border on Monday.
