I'm thinking of including Hells Gate NP in my itineary because I like the sound of cycling in a NP.
Those of you that have done it, do you recomend it?
Is the cycling hard or easy?
Is there good wildlife and scenery in Hells Gate NP?
How does it compare to the other NPs in Kenya?

Yes, did it last year and really enjoyed it. The cycling is easy (a little bit uphill on the way in) and the scenery is bautiful. The density of wildlife isn't the highest, I guess, we saw zebras and giraffes close to the road, oh and baboons of course, a little too close for comfort when one big male stole our lunch.
You also shouldn't miss the walk in the narrow gorge, definetely worth it.
Oh, and go as early in the morning as possible - better for wildlife and you will feel you have the whole park to yourself. It also gets quite hot later on, and the road is very dusty, so cycling back wasn't much fun when there was quite a bit of car traffic.

We stayed at Fisherman's Camp and rented bikes from there. I'm pretty sure all the camps along the lake road rent out bikes, not sure if you could also get them at the park itself, but I doubt it.

Hi. I have tried that too and found it not so good due to a thick layer of dust making biking real burden there.
I have put more information about my experience to my rather detailed trip report and placed it on the internet - if interested check it out at my site.
Have a good trip.

yes do it, its a great experience, my three coliques just did cycling at the hells gate while i did the watching, ma feet...kaput! you can get the bikes at the cray fish camp, we rented from there as well.its lovely, a kenyan crater! not really lots of wildlife but more to do with atmoshere and nature scenery, its a rough ride though but enjoyable i could tell as they say...sure do it!

Easy to rent bikes at many tourist spots along the shore, but do check the bikes carefully - reliability is a major issue!
It's dusty but easy riding, if you're lucky plenty to see. Go gently, be quiet, watch for the bird life (and rock hyrax at Fischer's Tower are wonderful).
Can't get bikes at the park gate.
Could be done in a day from Nairobi but you'd arrive in the heat of the day.
