We recently spent 3 weeks in Kenya on an independent self drive Safari. If you need to rent a car/4X4 in Nairobi or Kenya I would definitely recommend you use Jolly Esmail and his company 'Central rent a car' which is based in Nairobi. We hired a budget Suzuki Maruti Gypsy King 4WD for a great price and had no problems at all. Before leaving we received fantastic advice regarding roads, routes, safety issues and accommodation. I second all of that. My boyfriend and I hired a Suzuki Maruti for a week from Central Rent A Car. The customer service was amazing, they helped us with all the routes and travel tips and even helped us shop for supplies! But most importantly, when we had a breakdown just outside Narok, Mr Esmail and his son drove two cars all the way from Nairobi to tow the broken down vehicle and give us a replacement so we could continue on our journey. This sort of security is essential when travelling in Kenya and I would recommend anyone on self-drive use this company.
