avoid the hibiskus lodge in mtwapa!

I arrived from mombasa in this hotel a sunday morning and I knew exactly how much money I had with me
the first day the receptionnist ensures me that the security is great and insists that I should leave my key every time I leave the hotel
this key is kept inside a box with all the other keys
the second day I noticed that half of my money has been stolen so that I dont notice it right away
this money was hidden inside my bag which is locked and inside my room which is locked too
I ask to see the owner who is German and tells me that she is sorry and that I should have put my money in her safe!!!
she tells me that there is a sign in the room about this
I tell her that when I arrived nobody told me anything about this and that this sign is in German only!!
does it mean that only Germans have the right to keep their money safe coz we are in an English speaking country here?
of course the police was useless and the receptionnist says he was innocent
I left this place disgusted and I learnt from the police itself that this happened to other tourists as well in this hotel
is the owner involved?
