Hi all. I am considering to visit the Bui National Park for few days. Could please people who have been there share their opinions about that Park? It is not so easy to get there using public transport so I would like to be sure it is worth the hassle. Thanks.

Hi. I am planning my trip to Ghana for this November. In the updates to the last Bradt guide (and some other references) I have read reports about not so infrequent highway robberies (ambushes of shared taxis, tro-tros or even buses) taking place even in full daylight and on main roads in northern part of Ghana (around Bolgatanga and even Tamale and esp. on the road from Tamale to Wa or Bole, and Bole to Wenchi). I am quite experieced traveller used to keep low profile but being stripped off my…

Hey!

If I'm an American citizen, currently in Ghana on a multiple-entry tourist visa, how easy is it to travel to Lome, Togo for the weekend? Can I get a visa at the border and how much would it cost? How do I get to the border from Accra? I know there are STC buses that run from Accra to the border town of Aflao, but I'm not sure if I can make those times - are there shared taxis one could take instead and if so where in Accra do you get them?

And any advice on where to stay/what to do in…

Hi, I cannot decide me, what I do, if go to Ghana or Gabon. Was some one in both this countries and can give me advice?
I'm not the type of backpacker, but very accustomed to travel a lot, not so very comfortable, but like to rent a car if possible, not scared or worried, like to travel and learn about the countries, meet local people, see the scenery and even animals (my favorite animals are lions though they are not where do I know), also like to take a short bath in a nice cove, love palm…

We travel because we need to. Because the distance and difference are the secret tonics to the creativity. When we get home, home is still the same, but something in our minds has changed, and that changes everything.

Hi

we will arrive an Accra on dec. 26, so we will be in Ghana on new years eve. I would like some advice, on where to spend it. We are not looking for a big party (being in our 40'es), but more for a nice, quite perhaps even romantic place.

Our route may be along the coast, up to Kumasi and through Accra on to Hoe before going on to Togo. It could be the other way (first Kumasi, then).

Any recommendations?

PS: How long time does it take to get a visa for Togo in Accra? Will the embassy be…

Hello,

Thanks all of you for the helpful tips I've picked up from this board. I'm finishing up some work in Accra and have a bit of time to travel.

There's such wonderful produce around, but my stomach is not the strongest, and I'd like to find a disinfecting agent for cleaning it. I checked the Shoprite at the Accra Mall, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know of a brand name, or where to purchase it? In case you're not sure what I'm talking about, this article describes some…

I am traveling from Lagos to Accra at the moment. Obtaining the Ghana visa is prooving to be increasingly difficult. The embassies in both Cotonou and Lagos only accepted residents to the respective countries. I don't expect a different treatment in Lome either.

As my home flight is out of Accra, I really do need to get there. Does anybody have a similar experience or knows a solution? Visa on arrival, transit visa, facilitation fees? Any advice or comment is being welcomed!
