Hi everyone

Could anyone tell me what's the weather like in Ghana in late August? Apparently there is a great difference between the south (dry) and the north (wet), but how bad is the rainy season in the north in August? Is it just short downpoars or does it rain for long hours? Are the roads passable or are some regions unaccessible?

Thanks for any info.

Hi Safaro,

The rainy season has just ended in the north. This year and last the rains were unusually heavy, but the season was shorter. Many roads are OK, but the road between Wa and Bolga is terrible, as is the road from Yendi to the Volta region south. Around Bolga is mostly OK, albeit muddy, during the wet season.

I do write a lot about Bolga and Ghana in general and you can check out some of that at http://gisforghana.blogspot.com . Let me know if I can help further. All the best, Gayle.
