Hi guys,
planing a trip thru West-Africa in December.
Will start maybe in Accra and then move on via Burkina Faso and Benin to Nigeria.
Does someone know if the Visa Touristique Entente (The one for BF, CI, Togo, Benin and Niger) is still available and where I can get one. As far as I know the Togolese embassy in Accra was a good place to apply for it. But I've heard they don't issue this anymore.
Was recently anyone able to get a VTE and where?

Thanks in advance
Stefan

Apparently it's no longer available in Accra, seems that Ouaga is the only sure place of getting it. I have got it once at the Benin Embassy in Abidjan but not sure if that's still feasible

Hi Kira,

thanx for ya answer.
I now checked the LP West Africa and I understood that the VTE is now replaced by the "Visa des Pays de L'Entente", which you can get in one of the 5 countries. Meaning you'll need a Visa for the country of application first (e.g. BF). In an other thread I also found a confirmation that you can get the Visa in Ouaga.
Does someone ever tried to enter Niger with the Visa des Pays de L'Entente?

Bye
Stefan

I got the Visa des Pays de L'Entente in Ouaga. Entered Niger, Togo and Benin with it. At the Nigeria/Togo-Border I got some troubles but they could be solved by talking to the boss of the officer.
Cheers! Stefan

Thanks for the update; a few questions ...

  1. Still obtainable at 'Service des Passeports' on the Bobo road?
  2. Still at 25 000CFA?
  3. Still done in 24hrs?

Would be good to know for us all. Good to see that you can enter Niger with it again, I presume it's still for the 5 countries?

Hi Kira,
It's available at the "Direction du Contrôle de la Migration", Kadiogo Ave. in Ouaga for 25000 CFA and It's issued in one day but note, that applications are accepted only in the morning (7am to 12:30pm) and the pick -up time is only in the afternoon (3pm to 5:30pm) next day. And yes, i'ts still valid for the 5 countries (single entry) but I didn't try to enter CV.

Hey,

Thanks for the information guys. I am heading into Burkina soon and hope to be able to get this multy country visa. I am just wondering how long the visa l'entente de pays is good for and if it is really only single entry (seems silly that it would work that way) as I was hoping to enter Togo from BF and then cross into northern Benin, head down to the coast and come back through southern Togo on my way to Ghana.

Also, if anyone has experience travelling through the northern parts of Togo and Benin, I would like to know the feasibility of seeing this region without my own transportation as well accessing Pendjari NP.

Thanks,

Matt
