Friends,
I am new to travelblog.org.
I am a fairly seasoned traveller. I am 24 year old male from US.
This will be my First trip to Africa...
I am planning a 6 month trip to Africa starting in June 2010. I will be travelling alone. My goals are to hit south, east, west, and a little north. I understand its not tons of time. But I am flexible depending on funds. I could stay up to 8-10 months. I plan to have a basic agenda. But ideally S. Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Vic Falls area in one go. Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Madagasscar next. Mali, Benin, Ghanna, but open to W. Africa suggestions third. Then Morrocco and Egypt.
I am definatley considering overlanding for some of my trip, as it seems like a cheap, fast, safe alternative way to travel. Not all one trip though. A few seperate trips, with flying and down time between. Also a far bit done independently if convienent and safe.

I have done extensive reading in books and online. But dont know one person who has been anywere in Africa. By biggest concern of course is safety. I refusive to listen to stereotypes. But what is the deal. Am I gonna have problems. I consider myself a good, independent traveller, skilled at dealing very well with locals. But lets face it I'm a white boy...
Lets Talk... Anything you want to add. Would be amazing...
Thanks in Advance...
