Hi all

I'm trying to plan an overland trip to West Africa and i'm thinking of flying back to the UK from Ghana. However, searching for a one way ticket is proving a bit problematic on the internet as most airlines seem to have London as the start destination on their websites. Also, there doesn't appear to be a Ghana International Airlines in operation any more. It looks like a number of airlines fly to the UK via european stop-offs, though BA and Virgin seem to fly direct but at a premium price. Has anybody bought a one way ticket recently and can recommend the best way of doing this? Is it best to wait till i'm in Ghana and buy one there or can i order a ticket in the UK by phoning one of the agencies, ie http://www.7-continentstravel.co.uk/Flights-to-Accra.html

I noticed that Air Maroc fly from Lagos as well as a few others. Although i wasn't planning on going to Nigeria would it be easier to get a flight from there to London?

Any advice much appreciated.

Andy

Royal Air Maroc also flies from Accra to London changing planes in Casablanca.

Ghana International stopped flying last year unfortunately! One of your best bets is Brussels Airlines - www.brusselsairlines.com

They do one-way tickets as well, cheapest I have found for a one-way from Accra to Heathrow is around £400, if you search hard you can get a return for not that much more..

Service is very good, would recommend flying with them!

Best of luck..

@torotaxi: you're are right. Perhaps the problem is that they can't sell those tickets online. I suggest you to get in contact with them. You can see the contact details on here. I recommend you the same option with anyother airline that, flying to/from Accra, don't show Accra as a departure destination in their web.

Thanks stumbleinnghana, i looked at the Brussels airlines website and there are lots of flights to London Heathrow for $647US next February (just under £400) and similar prices for one month in advance which seems ok compared to other companies.

Thanks anillos for the AIr Maroc contact details, i will give them a shout and see what they have.
