Many thanks

Sorry no one has responded. We did it as described, but that was a couple of years ago now. Spent a night in Donkorkrom. It was quite basic but nice. The main ferry was out, but there was a smaller backup running. Not sure what it's looking like now, but I imagine things can't be too different. I would do it again, it was a unique part of the trip.

I did the trip the opposite way early this year, i.e. from Kpando to Nkawkaw. The water was very high in Lake Volta so the only way to cross from Kpando was an open long boat with room for some 50 passengers. Impossible to bring a car across from Kpando at that time but no problem getting across to Nkawkaw (don't remember the names for that connection, it's in Bradt)

I spent a couple of nights in Donkorkrom and really enjoyed the small city and the people there. St. Michael is a great hotel, much better than described in Bradt with newly renovated rooms.
