My husband and I are going to travel around in Ghana during 3 weeks. We would like to hire a 4x4 without driver.
Can anyone recommend a car rental compagny?

The tourist industry is not well developed in Ghana, and this includes car hire. It is much easier to hire on the other side of Africa. I think you will find it difficult to hire any vehicle without a driver, and if you find you can then the cost may be more than if you had a driver. This is mainly because you will not be trusted to return it, or if you do it will be a mess! Some time ago I tried to hire a car without a driver and the insurence cost was more than the cost of a driver.
Google car hire in Ghana and there is some info. But I suggest you wait until you arrive in Ghana and spend some time looking at what is available in Accra to hire, rather than commit yourself in advance. Hertz is there and a lot of small private operators. Hopefully someone with a more recent knowledge of car hire in Ghana will reply to your query.
I'm currently using this company to hire a few buses for a conference, they seem good, but the service won't happen till the end of September. They have other vehicles such as 4WD & cars

There are a couple of issues with car hire in Ghana. First there is the deposite and issues with insurance and the company getting their car back.
Second if you have ever been to Accra I am sure you would not want to drive there, or take responsibility for a car on those streets. Out side of Accra it calms down a bit but finding your way and dealing with the overtaking can still be a challenge.
I would suggest getting a driver for the reasons stated above and I would recomend anyone traveling in Ghana do to it with a guide or a driver, you can learn so much more and cut some of the hassle out of things. Traveling in Ghana can be exausting at times and having that person there for you to drive when you are tired is a huge plus. I have traveled Ghana in independently, with Ghanaian friends as guides, and taking tro-tros and public transport. But on my last trip to Ghana I deffinitly opted for a car and driver and would never looked back.
If you would like some help on finding an affordable car with a driver please email me GreenBugAfrica@gmail.com.
Good Luck,
