I am planning to explore Ethiopia for 2 weeks in mid July, and am concerned about the rain and what I will actually be able to experience without trudging through bad weather! Can anyone let me know what is feasible for 2 weeks, ideally in the the driest areas ? ideally I would like to do some trekking and see as much wildlife as possible.

Thanks for you help.

hello
I have been to Ethiopia several times, and once in July. the rain is worst in the north, but it was not so bad that it disrupted our plans and our travels. but I have to admit it was many years ago, so the roads were in a worse state than now so that we decided to take several internal flights. but it does not rain all day and we managed to go on with our plans reasonably well. Harar, in the East of Ethiopia, is drier I think, and it s a wonderful region, especially thanks to the friendly people (I can give you some contacts if you like). the South is definitely dry in July, so you can take a tour to visit the tribes (that takes one week minimum). it can only be done with a small group (3 or 4 people usually) as there is no public transport. I can also give you contacts for this if you need any.
