I know that it’s not fair to speak about Bradt guidebooks on the Lonely Planet forum but they are more accurate than LP, especially for Africa…

i always use lonely planet when i travel
before i used to use routard but now i feel better with LP, never used bradt

Bradt Ethiopia is best known as the prime choice as guidebook for independent.
It's up to you if you want use the LP.
Routard is a joke...

hi,
the weather in August is rainy in almost part of Ethiopia but in South omo it will be less comparing to the other .

July and August are very very very wet in Highland Ethiopia. Omo is ok as rains are April and Oct/Nov. MOST people enjoy Omo despite the human zoo syndrome.
Rift Valley south of Addis OK too.
As MVB says Ethiopia 6th edition Bradt is THE best guidebook.
