Hi there

I'm planing to go through northern Ethiopia with a private 4x4 for about 10-12 days, leaving probably tomorrow.
I'm in Addis Abeba right now and I'm trying to find a travel buddy. This is the deal: I would take a 4x4 jeep with a personal driver, organised by a local guide. It costs me around 130 USD a day. Not included are accomodation and local guides. The tour would go through the north first to Bahir Dar then to Gonder then to Axum, Mekele, Lalibela, via visiting some more places on the route. The more people come, the more we can split up the costs. So if you are interessted taking part of it you only have to take part of a small amount of the costs, wich you can decide (around 40 USD would already be quite good). You can jump on when you want and jump off too. Individual tour would be best, because we can stop where we want, to take photos and it takes us only a third of the time to visit the areas. So what do you say?

I am coming to ethiopia ssturday, planning to do danakil first joining the mandatory group, then I am open to anything backcountry, willing to share etc. Canadian 55 wide travel experience ( couchsurfing file gaetan nadeau). Maybe we can do something, I have 3 weeks...

Hi there,
I'm looking at doing a similar trip in May/June and was wondering how you found this trip, whether the cost seemed reasonable and the time was enough to comfortably see all of these sites?

How did you organise the 4x4 vehicle?
