Are July/August good months to visit Omo or does it rain too much? Also, I want to go in the months where there are as few tourists as possible as it looks to me it is a zoo out there.

I am not sure you got my PM to you Pruk.
July and August are in the middle of the rainey season as others will tell you.

Ethiopia is not exactly overun with tourists but October is at the end of the rains and befor the tourist ''hoards'' who start to arrive in early November.

Not so. The main rains in the lower Omo are March-May and the area has a total rainfall of only c. 400mm in any case. Of course the rains in the highlands (main rains July-August) can make getting there exciting with the possibility of roads closed due to flash flooding.

Is travel then feasible in the Omo Valley during the rainy season (March to May), or is it not worth the bother?

Travel is certainly feasible but you may just have to wait a day or so after a storm to let a flood abate or for a track to dry out.

OK, well I think I can cope with that, thanks.....
