have any travellers been to Harar during ramadan, it seems ill be stuck there for a few days just as it starts, is it taken very seriously in Ethiopia?

I haven't been there then, but my guess is that it is taken pretty seriously. Harar must be 95% Muslim. Still, I can't imagine it will affect you too much. People there are ridiculously nice and the beer they make there, which is great, can still probably be purchased at some hotels.

hi, Ramadan is taken pretty seriously in Harar and I suppose restaurants might be closed during the day. I know some people in Harar, if you want you can private message me and I will pass on their contact so that you can get all the info you need. they speak good English and are very knowledgeable.
