Hello,
I posted this question abouth a month ago and no replyes at all.
So I give it another try: any info about taking Amharic class/ course in Addis.
I would appreciate info about any level of instruction available!

Alliance ethio-francaise in Addis has Amharic classes: www.allianceaddis.org
I took a ten week/20 hour course. It's fairly unstructured and you'll mostly learn greetings and goodbyes, plus some getting around phrases - not much time is spent on the written language. I think the next level might cover that more. It's in nice surrounds, the teacher was lovely and it's way to meet some fellow travellers - or more likely foreigners working in Addis, plus local students learning French.

Was the instruction from French to Amharic? I do not know any French.
Still hoping to find instruction / class. I know fidel. Anyone else, any info?
