Where celebration: Where is the best to see Meskel celebrations: In Gondar, Addis Abeba or Lalibella?
When is the main celebration the 27 of September in the night or 28 in the early morning??

Yes Addis . The main thing in Maskal Square is in the afternoon of Maskal Eve...27th from 2-6 pm.in Maskal Square .
Also good around 4 in the rooads into the square on north side of Stadium as the church choius and bands process down there.After the bonfire is lit there is a pop concert Ethio style in the grounds of the Ghion Hotel nearby
ie approx 6 30 to 9 30 pm.

Definitely Addis Ababa - it's not called Maskal Square for nothing.

I was there in 1991 - the first Maskal after the fall of the Derg when Abiot changed to Maskal - sorry wandering off topic and down memory lane...
