Hotels and Camping in Arbaminch and Jinka?

In August it would probably be advised to book ahead, although many places will not accept an invitation more than a day in advance. Depends on the quality of the place you're looking at.

In Arba Minch you can camp at the Bekele Mola Hotel and in Jinka there are a few places to camp. The official campsite (don't remember its name) is pretty far out of the main town, but doable. Otherwise, sometimes the Goh Hotel will allow people to camp on the small patch of grass in the back.

Camping in Southern Ethiopia in the rainy season is wet, indeed, but doable if you've got a decent tent. Drying stuff takes a lot longer, too, so keep it in mind.

The big hotels in Southern Ethiopia book out quickly in the tourist season because of the amount of tourists that now go there, and are booked out by the tour agencies. You can camp at the Bekele Mola but the staff aren't at all friendly. You can also camp at the Goh Hotel and they have lovely soft grass. But the Goh hotel can get noisy.

Instated of camping in Arba Minch, I camped in Dorze and stayed at Mekonen’s Lodge call him 251-911077972. Jinka I camped at Rocky Campsite, rain is rain.

Ive been to Makkonnens place in Dorze and it is very well set up. I'd highly recommend it - he's a really happy, friendly guy and the place is well set up for travellers.
