isn't there any way to enter eritrea via land from ethiopia?

By air but not easy at all from Addis or Asmara.
Using a third country for the transit but which one ?
Not Yemen with the current situation.
Egypt Air and Cairo should be the only realistic one but it's time consuming.
Maybe Saudi Arabian but I can't say more about it.
Keep in mind that you need also travel permit to leave Asmara when you will be there.

I was in Ethiopia in 2005, 2010 and 2011 and in Eritrea in 2007.
I will coming back in Eritrea if I can go in the current restricted areas.
I don't know when it will be possible...
You know the situation with Ethiopia...

It's not "fun" via Cairo but it will be "fun" when you will be at Bole (Addis) and you will be at the check-in asking to be in a plane on the way to Asmara...
The reaction of the officials will be the same at Asmara Airport when you will doing the check -in for Addis...
In my point of view, it will not be so easy...
Even if the first flight will be for Sanaa, Cairo or Khartoum...
