Do Ethiopian Airlines fly this route?
If so.....
Which days?
What type of plane fly this route?
And if anyone happens to know if they'll carry a bicycle then that'd be great.

As for the type of plane I saw planes on the landing strip in the middle of Jinka which also looked like it was the football pitch. Is was a small prop plane that looked like it would hold about 10-15 passengers. Sorry, don't know any schedules. Check their website.

Doesn't seem to even mention the Jinka flight on the website hence why I asked the question here....

Since August 2007 or sometime around then, Ethiopian Airlines has discontinued its flights to Jinka, which used to operate with a DHC-6 twin otter 17-seater light aircraft. Due to gradual shortage of these kinds of aircrafts due to mechanical problems, etc, they have been forced to pull out of service the last remaining two aircrafts, thereby closing down their operations to destinations handled with these aircrafts throughout Ethiopia - examples Jinka which was easy accesspoint for Lower Omo Valley, Mizan Teferi, Teppie and Tum which were easy access points for the Surma area of Upper Omo Valley access, Mekaneselam for the Lasta Mountains of North Ethiopia, etc.
Don't really think they will reinstate operations to these remote destinations any time soon. Your remaining option would be to fly out to Arbaminch with the Fokker 50s they use and then drive down to Jinka. I think the Fokkers are large enough capable of holding a bicycle.

No more flights to Jinka. You will now have to go to Arba Minch and go overland from there. They will upgrade the runway before resuming flights, and doing anything in Ethiopia takes a long time. They are currently upgrading the road between Arba Minch and Jinka.
They use Fokkers and bigger planes for the northern routes, not sure about the south.
