Hi guys, the LP says in Hargeisa is the Ethiopian Liason office (south of independence road) and they issue ethiopian visas in less than 1 day. you need 2 photos and it only cost 20 Dollar.sometimes is a letter from the immigration department office headquarters necessary. but not always.
im wondering if this information is still correct? i need to know if i need this letter and how much is the visa? im happy to hear from travelers who tried it recently.
i´ve heard there is no chance to get one at the border of somalialand/ethiopia? is it correct?
thanks a lot in advance!!!

Firstly, when asking about visas, it is important to include your nationality for the best responses.

No. A quick search of recent thread on ThornTree will clearly indicate that it in now "impossible" to get an Ethiopian visa at the embassy in Hargeisa. It has never been possible to get one at the border.

You will either need a mulitple entry visa issued at the embassy in your home country, or fly to Addis where most western nationalities can can a single-entry visa on arrival.
