I am going to Ethiopia for seven days this July (July 6-July 13). Is it possible to do trekking at this time or is it too rainy? Also, I checked the TESFA website for treks and it said that TESFA does not operate during July. Does anyone know of an organization that will take me to authentic Ethiopian villages that operates in July? Thanks for your help.

you could check the GTZ-organized eco-trekking out of Dodola, near the Bale Mountains - I'm not sure if they operate in July. There are good details & a map on their routes in the Bradt 2005 guidebook for Ethiopia; I just don't have it with me right now to check times of year for you...

Hello,

Northern Ethiopia is fine in july, green and with beautiful lights, but it is difficult to trek at that time because of rain. Better go South and trek in Bale mountains as former post suggested. 7 days is just good timing for that. Dont miss Sof Omar.

Bon voyage,

You can also just go to Bale Mountains NP and you will be assigned a guide there who can arrange your trek for you - whether it be for one day or for 7 days. They can get you a tent but the quality may not be the best.
