Has anyone done the Danakil Depression trip to the lava lake/volcano with another company other than G.K. Ahadu in Mekele (in LP book)?
Also, my girlfriend and I are looking for other people to join us for the tour and reduce costs. We're in Mekele right now staying at the Queen of Sheba Hotel. Please drop by or PM me if interested.

So, how was the trip to the Danakil / Afar depression ?
We are planning to do a similar trip from 7 to 11 november 2008 and we found that 'off-road ethiopia' would organise it for 1463 US dollar per person (mamamia !!) for a group of 4, 'Abeba' asks even more!! I already sent an email to 'ahadu' but get no reply.
Do you (or anyone) know with which organisation we can do it for the +/- 500 dollars sometimes mentioned ? Can it be organised locally and how ?
Is somebody interested to join our group (we are nice, funny people of +/- age 35, one girl, 3 men) and so get the price per person for us all lowered ?
