Cost of round trip flight from Addis to Lalibella?

I flew on 15.March from Lali to Addis. I came to Ethiopia by Lufthansa and in Lali I booked the flight to AA. LH is a partner or has a codeshare with Ethopia so I got an immense reduction. Instead of 1650 Birr fullfare I paid 501 Birr, this are 35 €. One other guy who came with Ethiopian Airlines booked on the same time and got the reduction too.

The price for non-residents for a round-trip Addis - Lalibela - Addis should be about $300 these days. Prices went up in January (LP book prices of $51 must be extremely outdated).

As dorehmasia says, if you fly to Ethiopia with Ethiopian Airlines (or, I guess Lufthansa, too, though I don't know personally about that), you can get a discounted fare. Basically, you get the resident's rate, which is more than 1/2 the non-residents rate for domestic flights. There are some restrictions on this though (you must be 2 people I think, or at least go 2 legs...something like that. I forget exactly, but make sure to check the rules.)

The prices have gone up a fair amount since the book was printed. During their milennium celebrations everything increased in price and they didn't go back down. Expect to pay at least $US100 each way. 15 months ago it cost us $US120 each way from Addis Ababa to Axum.

Addis - Lalibela - Addis flight rate as of today is 299USD. I recall rate was around 121USD one way in late 2007. Looks like it has gone up to 150USD currently. Discounts apply if you are atleast at a group size of 2 persons and have flew in with Ethiopian.

I was there in from December to January and didn't see an increase. I also don't know where the $300 rate came from. The price from Ethiopian's website is 3224Birr or US $285, and there might be a 15% discount for booking online. Last time I flew them and booked on their website, I got the discount.
