Finally got around to writing about my trip to Bahir Dar in January. I found it to be the only place in Ethiopia that was a bit of a let down. The churches were underwhelming, especially when you consider the churches everywhere else in the country. One thing that was a really pleasant surprise, though, was the seafood!

I tried to focus quite a bit on the fish seeing as I hadn't seen any info on it before I visited. I also tried to semi-thoroughly cover the churches I visited...

Thank you for sharing ! The paintings in the two "good" churches look amazing.

Thanks! They were! But there are far better paintings of a similar style in Gondar.

Hello! How did you go to Bahir Dar? By bus?

I came from Awra Amba, which meant I had to catch a shared minibus form the side of the road, and then changed minibuses at Worota/Wereta to get to Bahir Dar.

That said, Bahir Dar is one of the most well-connected towns and it's easy to catch buses of any kind from pretty much anywhere. There are several coach companies in Addis Ababa that go to Bahir Dar, not just Selam Bus and Skybus.
