Hi Guys,

I'd like to travel by public transport from Bahir Dar to Harar without going through Addis A (as I will do the route Harar - AA on my return).

Does anyone know how doable/reasonable it is to travel from Bahir Dar to Harar via Woldia - Mille or Logiya - Awash for example? Or any alternative route?
It seems there are a few buses to Woldia, but I'm not sure if it is possible to continue by public transport from there, and if so, whether it can be done in a couple of days or how long it may take.
Any experience, suggestion or comment will be much appreciated!
Thanks a lot!

It's possible to use alternative roads to reach Harar even If you need differents public transports or trucks.
If you use trucks, try to avoid "Al Qaeda" (Isuzu light trucks) because they are dangerous.
It could be time consuming but it's a great way of travel.
You have accomodations nearly everywhere. It's not a problem to find a room for the night.

Tho your idea is doable in theory i would strongly advise against it.....
Traffic is too light east of Komblocha/Bati on that road.
