We want to travel from Egypt (after Giza and Luxor) to Jordan (Aqaba-Petra-Dead Sea) into Israel. Any advice on the route? I speak some Arabic, not sure about the public transportation options, but we can afford private transpo, if necessary between certain way points. Planning on going mid to end of October.
Please could someone advise, ideally with step-by-step instructions, how I’m able to gain permission to bring a Satellite phone with me to Egypt.
I will be travelling through Egypt later this year as part of an overland trip from London to Cape Town and will have a Satellite phone with me.
Because of the issues in the Sinai, I shall be flying form Jordan to Cairo and then plan to cross the land border from Egypt to Sudan south of Abu Simbel. My satellite phone is for use in the more remote…
we are due to arrive in Egypt later this month ( 3 weeks) and would like to spend a few days in Cairo (3 Days?) Move south to Luxor for a few days (not sure about the heat). Then move somewhere else - do we go to Aswan? or to the coast and Red Sea. Not keen to go to Sharm but where else? or do we go to Israel for the last week. Do we travel by air to Luxor or make use of the train? While in Luxor is it better to stay on East bank or West bank?
Hello. I have an opportunity to volunteer in Cairo in september-october and I am a bit worried about the safety. How is the situation with the safety there? And especially for women, is it safe to spend so much time in Cairo? Media is full of bad things and I want to know some certain things, or at least as certain as it can be, 'cause you can never know haha. Thanks a lot!

Hello,
I'm planning a solo trip to Egypt (Cairo, Luxor, Dhaba) in the fall. I've read quite a few posts here but nothing specific about how to hire guides, when it's necessary, how to negotiate a fair price, etc. I realize this is a very generic question, but any advice is welcome.
Thanks!
