My husband and I will be in Aswan from 20th Oct 07. We are interested in arranging a felucca from Aswan to Edfu (2 nights), leaving on 23rd Oct.

We have heard that the tourist office in Aswan is a good place to get help with bookings and have read the advice given in the LP guide. Wondering if anyone has done this and if you have any advice / thoughts.

we are planning a trip to Egypt and would like to relax and snorkel a few days in Berenice after exploring the Nile and the cultural sites there.

As we want to travel to some places independently before the stay in the hotel in Berenice no travel agent could to help us :(

So I hope you can know more than those ... beep....

Do you know if

a) There is really a bus from Marsa Alam to shalatein (the lonely planet says so)

b) The bus stops in Berenice

c) Foreigners are allowed on this bus

I am travelling to Cairo in Dec and have been recomended to stay at the: Let Me Inn, Venice Hostel and Safari hostel.

I can't seem to find an email address for these hostels anywhere as I would like to contact them with some questions before I go. Does anyone have contact details?

Also, I was hoping for some feedback about other people experiancce of these hostels - quality/location/staff/facilities etc.

Me and my friend are going travelling to Egypt, Jordan and Syria next March for a few months but my friend cannot fly so we have to do the journey overland to reach Egypt. We will be travelling from London to Egpyt but I was wondering what the best and cheapest route was. I have been told that we could:

(1)Travel via coach or Eurostar from London to Southern France
then;
(2) Get the train from Southern France to Bari in Italy then;

I am planning about 3-4 days in the Western Oasis as follows:
1 day: Cairo to Farafra by public bus. Take a trip at late afternoon to the White Desert…
2 day: Farafra to Dakhla by bus.
3 day: Dakhla and the desert
4 day: Dakhla to Luxor by bus.

We need your help 1 more time. We will be traveling to Egypt during the high season and would like to book a cruise once we get there as it seems to be much less expensive . Need some help here to find:

1) Mid range ($70USD or less) hotel with king bed
- we need a hotel that we can go back during the day to rest if needed.

Currently LongChamps is booked already, so any other recommendations appreciated.
